Dr. Johnson graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee in 1996 with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. In 1999, upon completion of a three-year residency, she received her certificate in pediatric dentistry and postdoctoral Masters of Science at the University of North Carolina. 

Dr. Johnson is a board certified pediatric dentist. Along with her diplomat status in the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry she is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and several state and regional dental societies. She is an adjunct faculty member at the UNC School of Dentistry where she enjoys teaching in the undergraduate pediatric dentistry clinic. Dr. Johnson previously practiced in Rocky Mount for three years while commuting from her home in Raleigh. She opened the Wakefield office (next to the SunTrust bank) to be closer to her home and family.
